Wing Systems
No matter your application, LAROCHELLE has the widening solution to meet your needs. Whether it is left, right or dual wings, we offer a full range of wing systems including municipal / patrol style, hydraulic or cable benching style and rear mounted.
Most of our wing systems can incorporate key elements of the truck’s hydraulic components such as a hydraulic reservoir and its related accessories, valves mounted in an enclosed valve cabinet, etc. This facilitates the installation and maintenance of your gear.
As for our wing moldboards, they are available in lengths ranging from 10 to 14 feet (9 to 13 feet cutting edges) as well as HD versions in order to adapt to all sizes of trucks and all plowing conditions.
When it comes to widening solutions, choose the gear that is right for you. Choose LAROCHELLE!
- Allows lane widening operations thanks to its entirely hydraulic design that requires minimal space behind the truck cab. It is the ideal solution to add a side wing to trucks that are already equipped with a dump body or a frame mounted spreader
- The L1324 front column’s low profile design helps improve driver visibility compared to competitive solutions and improves safety in urban plowing environments. With a 24 inch cylinder stroke it allows for plenty of float to follow the contour of the road and it’s bolted design allows for easy removal for repairs or seasonal storage
- The L1400M rear attachment consists in a “towerless” design with an easily removable 3 point attachment. It incorporates a mechanical float and a double acting hydraulic cylinder mounted between the push arms to raise and lower the side wing.
- Allows lane widening operations as well as benching operations thanks to its all hydraulic rear tower behind the cab
- The L1348 front column provides sufficient travel for effective benching while still maintaining a slim profile that does not impair driver visibility
- The heavy duty design of the L1436 rear tower includes a hydraulic cylinder with a 36 inch stroke that makes quick work of benching operations.
- Many rear tower attachment configurations are available including our most popular combination that includes a 40 gallon (150L) hydraulic reservoir and an enclosed valve cabinet to house the truck’s hydraulic valves and other components.
- Allows lane widening operations as well as benching operations thanks to a rear tower behind the cab that combines a hydraulic cylinder to operate a cable and sheave system. Cable systems offer the advantage of a constant operating speed across the entire travel range of the wing moldboard minimizing the likelihood of damaging the truck’s mirrors or exhaust. They also minimize the torsional stress associated with the geometry of entirely hydraulic wing systems and allow for easy adjustment or the wing’s float and storage position
- Our Cable system front posts are available with 40 inches of travel for municipal environments or 72 inches of travel for benching operations
- Our cable system rear towers are available with 36 inches or travel for municipal environments or 54 inches of travel for benching applications. Both versions include a heavy duty design suitable for the important forces at play during benching operations.
- Many rear tower attachment configurations are available including our most popular combination that includes a 40 gallon (150L) hydraulic reservoir and an enclosed valve cabinet to house the truck’s hydraulic valves and other components.
- Rear mounted wing systems are ideal for use in combination with underbody scrapers acting as the receiver for the snow discharged by the underbody scraper. They offer the advantage of reducing the weight on the front axle of the truck allowing for widening operations with trucks that have insufficient axle ratings for front mounted wings. They are also easily adaptable on trucks that may not have the proper front frame extensions to install a front hitch and wing.
- Other advantages of rear mounted wing systems include providing better visibility for the driver through the passenger window and easy access to the passenger seat of the trucks they do not block the driver’s view through the passenger window.
- The L1315 front post is installed ahead of the rear tandems while the L1400MR rear attachment allows raising and lowering of the wing moldboard thanks to a traditional set of push arms or a single hydraulically adjustable push arm.
- Since the plowing efforts are directed towards the rear of the truck with this system, it is better suited for widening operations involving light dry snow rather than important accumulations of heavy wet snow.
